February 2025 - Volume 37 - Issue 2

• The monthly Booster Club Meeting was called to order at 7:03 pm. After the Pledge of Allegiance, a moment of silence was held for Jack DiLauro, Ron Locke, Mark Bradley, Felix Mantilla, Rickey Henderson, Jeff Torborg and Lenny Randle Roll call was taken. All officers were present.

• The minutes of the December 16, 2024 meeting were read. A motion to accept the minutes as read was made by John Gregorovic and seconded by Jim Tourville. Motion passed.

• The Treasurer's Report was read by Judy Fitzgerald. A motion to accept the Treasurer's Reports as read was made by Steve LaBargo and seconded by Tammy DeRovira. Motion passed.

• We were saddened to hear of the passing of Carol Wyatt from WPSL and send our condolences to her husband Greg.

• The Salvation Army let us know that they used all the coats we donated.

• The February and March meetings will be at the Holiday Inn across form Duffy’s in St. Lucie West.

• Dues will need to be paid tonight in order to have your name in the Spring Training program.

• The Bus Trip to Miami on April 1st is a go. Please make your payment of $90.00 for members and $95.00 for non-members by the March 11th meeting.

• The annual Spring Gathering will be on Saturday, March 8th at Duffy’s. The cost is $30.00 for members and $35.00 for non-members.

• The February/March meeting raffles will feature 10 items, some of which may be autographed. • Jim will have the tickets to the March 15th game in West Palm Beach at the next meeting.

• We received thank you letters for our donations to Children’s Home Society, The Boys and Girls Club and Hibiscus Children’s Center.

• Membership Chairperson Mary Ann Jones welcomed new members Lucy and Bruce Esser from New Jersey.

• Traer Van Allen gave us an overview of the preparations for Spring Training. He let us know open workouts begin on February 12th in the back fields. The St. Lucie Mets schedule is now available, and Luis Rivera has been named the new manager. There will be several Community Nights and sponsored jerseys throughout the season.

• The name called for the 50/50 was David Kane, who was present via Zoom and won 50% of the pot.

• A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Paul Aloise and seconded by Harry Anderson. The meeting was adjourned at 8:25 pm.

The purpose of this organization is to provide support to the New York and St. Lucie Mets organizations, to provide an avenue for indigent and abused children to attend baseball games and to financially support local organizations who help indigent and abused children. The club shall be an informal, family oriented, social organization for the enjoyment of its membership as its priority, Chartered by the State of Florida.
