March 2023 - Volume 35 - Issue 3

• The monthly Booster Club Meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m. After the Pledge of Allegiance, roll call was taken. All Officers were present.

• The minutes of the January 16, 2023 meeting were read. A motion to accept the minutes as read was made by Jim Tourville and seconded by Roger Willis. Motion passed.

• The Treasurer’s Report was read by Judy Fitzgerald. A motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report as read was made by Joyce King and seconded by Jim Tourville. Motion passed.

• We welcomed Paul Taglieri, Mets Vice President, Minor League Operations and Kasey Blair, St. Lucie Mets Assistant General Manager, Game Day Operations. They gave us an update on the filed renovations, the workout schedule and the Amazin’ Mets Foundation activities in our

community. They also answered questions from members.

• We have a few tickets left for the Mets vs. Nationals game in Palm Beach at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2023.

• We will meet outside the stadium near the big Mets chair for the Spring Gathering on Saturday, March 4 th . If you wear a Mets shirt you will receive 3 free raffle tickets. The event will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the left field terrace, which is now named the Corona Beach House.

• We still have space available for the Bus trip to Miami on Saturday, April 1 st . The cost is $80.00 for members and $85 for non-members.

• Member Jim Dolan let us know that Keith Raad will now be on the radio broadcasts with Howie Rose. Keith was the main announcer for the Brooklyn Cyclones for the past five years. Jim also told us that Brandon Nimmo and Buck Showalter were honored at the 2023 Thurman Munson

Awards.

• The next meeting will be on Tuesday, March 14 th at Baron Real Estate. Member Elizabeth Moore will be singing the National Anthem at the game that day. Author David Bagdade will be a special guest.

• We welcomed Jack Pallen to the meeting. He had baseball cards for sale, many with certified autographs. He donated 2 signed baseballs to the club as a thank you.

• Membership Chairperson Mary Ann Jones welcomed new members Scott, Alicia, Cheyenne, Jett, Mackenzie and Landon Stier, as well as returning members Ed Winkelman and Arlene Weiss.

• The name called for the 50/50 was Barbara Faulkner, who was not present and won 50% of the pot.

• A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Lynne Skell and seconded by Bob Dunkerley. The meeting was adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
