• The monthly Booster Club Meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. After the Pledge of Allegiance, a moment of silence was held for Moises Alou and Hobie Lambrick. Roll call was taken. All Officers were present.

• The minutes of the March 14, 2023, meeting was read. A motion to accept the minutes as read was made by Steve LaBargo and seconded by Roger Willis. Motion passed.

• The Treasurer’s Report was read by Judy Fitzgerald. A motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report as read was made by Susan Samson and seconded by Ken Osterhoudt. Motion passed.

• The 2 bus trips to Miami went very well, even though the second bus was not full. Since several members have asked about going again, we are looking to go to the game on Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 6:40 p.m., with the bus leaving from Clover Park at 2:30 p.m. If we have at least 40 people by June 30, we will schedule it.

• Bill Zuppe gave the Minor League report. The three lower-level teams all have 3 and 6 records, while AAA Syracuse is at 10 and 5. Several of the organizations top prospects are playing here at St. Lucie.

• The date for the Annual Dinner is Saturday, November 11 and it will again be held at Clover Park.

• The St. Lucie Mets have a Theme Night each Saturday home game, benefiting a local charitable organization. The Board recommends sponsoring the School’s Out/Reading Fest for the Children’s Services Council on Saturday, May 27, at a cost of $300.00 which includes 25 tickets to the game. Volunteers will be needed to staff a table where we can promote the Booster Club. A motion was made by Roger Willis, seconded by Ken Osterhoudt to participate. Motion passed.

• Membership Chairperson Mary Ann Jones welcomed new members John McDonald, Charlene Brannon, John Quagliano, Les and Jean Zucker and Tom Kelly. She also read a thank you from David Bagdade for our hospitality at the March meeting.

• The name called for the 50/50 was Janet Lapham, who was not present and won 50% of the pot.

• A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Susan Samson and seconded by Sue Grodzki. The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 p.m.

The purpose of this organization is to provide support to the New York and St. Lucie Mets organizations, to provide an avenue for indigent and abused children to attend baseball games and to financially support local organizations who help indigent and abused children. The club shall be an informal, family oriented, social organization for the enjoyment of its membership as its priority, Chartered by the State of Florida.
