• Kasey Blair gave us a recap of the first playoff game between the St. Lucie Mets and the Dunedin Blue Jays, which the Mets won. It is a best of three series for the championship, with games two and three (if needed) being played in St. Lucie. She also told us that St. Lucie staff members are participating in the Jaycee Park rebuild in Fort Pierce on October 11 thru 14. We can get further information through the Sunrise Kiwanis Club. It is a worthwhile volunteer opportunity. Kasey reminded us that the Chili Cook-off, benefitting the Boys and Girls Club, will be held at Clover Park on October 22.

• Invoices for Spring Training tickets will be sent to season ticket holders this week. Game prices remain the same as last year.

• Judy gave us the details of our Annual Dinner, to be held at Clover Park on November 12. Cocktails and appetizers will be served in the Clubhouse, with dinner and the raffles taking place in the conference room. The cost is $50.00 per person and there will be a cash bar.

• We received thank you notes for our donations to the Salvation Army Food Pantry and the Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky.

• We are in the process of updating our By-Laws and read through the proposed changes. The main changes are dues increase of $3.00 for the first member of a household and the elimination of a meeting in July, unless it is needed. We also updated some language to be more in line with how we operate. The changes will be read again at the next meeting and then a vote will be taken.

• There are several events planned for next year. The Spring Gathering will be on Saturday, March 4. We will attend a road game in Palm Beach (tickets only, no bus) on Saturday, March 11, for the Mets vs. Nationals. Bus trips to Miami will be on Opening Day, Thursday, March 30 and on the following Saturday, April 1. Both are 4:10 p.m. games.

• Dora reported that St/ Lucie won the first round of the playoffs and are one game up in the finals. Brooklyn won their division in the second half but lost in the first round. Binghamton ended the season with a 53-83 record and Syracuse is currently at 59-82. New York is now 93-55.

• Membership Chairperson Mary Ann Jones welcomed new members Deborah, Michael A, Maichael F and Maura O’Brien, as well as Robert Farley, who joined in July.

• The name called for the 50/50 was Ken Osterhoudt, who was present via Zoom and won 75% of the pot.

• A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Susan Sampson and seconded by Joyce King.

• The meeting was adjourned at 7:42 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
