November 2022 - Volume 34 - Issue 11

• The monthly Booster Club Meeting was called to order at 7:09 p.m. After the Pledge of Allegiance, roll call was taken. All Officers were present.

• The minutes of the September 19, 2022 meeting were read. A motion to accept the minutes as read was made by Joyce King and seconded by Betty Brennan. Motion passed.

• The Treasurer’s Report was read by Judy Fitzgerald. A motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report as read was made by Paul Samson and seconded by Wilma Osterhoudt. Motion passed.

• Plans have been finalized for our Annual Dinner being held at Clover Park on Saturday, November 12. The cocktail hour will be from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Clubhouse, with dinner and raffle prizes in the Conference Room. Raffle tickets are 3 for $5.00 and we will have some special prizes for $5.00 per ticket. Additional tickets will be awarded to the winners of a trivia contest.

• The proposed changes to the By-Laws were read for a second time and voted on by the members. All the changes were approved. The most important revision was an increase to our annual membership dues, which is now $15.00 for the one member, $20.00 for two in the same household and $25.00 for three or more in the same household.

• We will be collecting toys to support the WPSL Christmas Kids and non-perishable food for the Children’s Home Society Wavecrest Shelter at our November meeting. The Board recommends making a $250.00 donation to each organization. A motion was made by Joyce King, seconded by Betty Brennan to make the donations. Motion passed.

• The Port St. Lucie Police Department participates in the Shop with a Cop program. They have 300 children to take holiday shopping this year. The Board recommends making a $200.00 donation to the program. A motion to make the donation was made by Susan Samson and seconded by Roger Willis. Motion passed.

• Dora gave the minor league report, the highlight being our own Florida State League Champion St. Lucie Mets.

• The meetings on Monday, February 13 and Tuesday, March 14 will be held at Barron Real Estate in St. Lucie West.

• There will be two sessions of Fantasy Camp, November 7 to 11 and 14 to 18. The games are played in the back fields and are open to the public.

• Wilma Osterhoudt is selling the Enjoyment Books through her church. The cost is $35.00 each.

• Membership Chairperson Mary Ann Jones welcomed new members Joseph Azzara, Suzanne Murphy and Douglas Filippone, who was present at the meeting.

• The name called for the 50/50 was Joe Grodzki, who was present and won 75% of the pot.

• A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Ken Osterhoudt and seconded by Susan Sampson. The meeting was adjourned at 7:48 p.m.

The purpose of this organization is to provide support to the New York and St. Lucie Mets organizations, to provide an avenue for indigent and abused children to attend baseball games and to financially support local organizations who help indigent and abused children. The club shall be an informal, family oriented, social organization for the enjoyment of its membership as its priority, Chartered by the State of Florida.
