• We ended up booking 30 rooms for the Mets series in Tampa in May. If you did not reserve through Jimmy, you are on your own. Ticket arrangements will be finalized once we know the cost.
• Since Doc Gooden has been such a good friend to the Club, we will invite him to the November meeting and present him with a gift.
• Judy gave us the details of our Annual Dinner on November 11, beginning with the cocktail hour in the Clubhouse at 6:00 pm. There will be a reasonably priced cash bar available. Dinner will be served in the Conference Room, with the raffle drawings to follow. We are only able to have 80 people and payment of $50.00 per person must be received by October 31.
• Bill reported that the brightest spot in our Minor Leagues is Binghamton, who play in the first round of the Eastern League playoffs beginning tomorrow. Hopefully, Luisangel Acuna will help them win. Brooklyn tied for first place in the second half but did not qualify for the playoffs based on head-to-head records. Bill also let us know that CitiField will host a Dominican Winter League series in November.
• Some dates to keep in mind for next year are the meetings on January 15 and February 19, the Spring Gathering on March 9 and the road game to Palm Beach on March 16.
• The name called for the 50/50 was Maria Laue, who was not present and won 50% of the pot.
• A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Carolyn Willis and seconded by Paul Samson. The meeting was adjourned at 7:28 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Pat Urso, Secretary
