December 2023 - Volume 35 - Issue 11

• The monthly Booster Club Meeting was called to order at 7:04 pm. After the Pledge of Allegiance. a moment of silence was held foe former Met pitcher Rob Gardner and Frank Howard. Roll call was taken. All Officers were present

• The minutes of the October 16. 2023 meeting were read. A motion to accept tt-.e minutes as read was made by Joyce King and seconded by Jim Tourville. Motion passed.

• The Treasurer's Report was read by Judy Fitzgerald. A motion to accept the Treasurer's Report as read was made by John Gregorovic and seconded by Steven LaBargo. Motion passed.

• Thank you to all who brought food for the Children's Home Society WaveCREST Shelter and Toys for the WPSL Christmas Kids. Carol and Greg Wyatt from WPSL explained the history of the Christmas Kids and told us that 500 children will receive 3 toys each. The Amazin' Mets Foundation has given them a $5000.00 grant to support all their programs, which include back to school clothes for homeless students and water safety lessons.

• Jack Pallen is here tonight with baseball cards for sale.

• Judy reported that the Annual Dinner was very successful, with a profit of over $1780.00. We thanked everyone who donated raffle prizes. We all had a good time and enjoyed the food.

• The location of our Spring Gathering on March 9th is yet to be determined, since we may have a scheduling conflict at the stadium.

• We will have our Pizza Party beginning at6:00 pm before the December 11" meeting.

• The Board recommends making the following donations: $500.00 to the Boys and Girls Club of St Lucie County. $500.00 to Hibiscus Children's Center. $500.00 to the Treasure Coast Food Bank. $400.00 to the Port St Lucie Police Department Shop With a Cop program and $400.00 to the Salvation Army Food Pantry. A motion to make the donations was made by Stephen LaBargo and seconded by Carol Hardy. Motion passed.

• Dues for 2024 should be paid by December 31"' and no later than the January 15"' meeting to have your name listed in our ad in the Mets Spring Training program.

• We are still working on finding a location for the February and March meetings.

• Please see Wilma Osterhoudt if you would like to purchase an Enjoyment Sook for $35.00 each. to benefit Faith Congregational Church.

• Self-nomination letters for officers were read. They were Jim Fertitta for President. Bill Zuppe for Vice President Pat Urso for Secretary Judy Fitzgerald for Treasurer and Mary Ann Jones for Membership Chairperson. Since there was only one candidate for each position a motion to accept the new Board was made by Jim Tourville and seconded by Joyce King. Motion passed.

• The name called for the 50/50 was Soon Williams. who was present and won 75% of the pot

• A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Paul Samson and seconded by Susan Fertitta. The meeting was adjourned at 7:52 pm.

The purpose of this organization is to provide support to the New York and St. Lucie Mets organizations, to provide an avenue for indigent and abused children to attend baseball games and to financially support local organizations who help indigent and abused children. The club shall be an informal, family oriented, social organization for the enjoyment of its membership as its priority, Chartered by the State of Florida.
