January 2024 - Volume 36 - Issue 1

• The monthly Booster Club Meeting was called to order at 7:09 pm. After the Pledge of Allegiance, a moment of silence was held for Ron Hodges and Joe Hicks. Roll call was taken. All Officers were present.

• The minutes of the November 13, 2023 meeting were read. A motion to accept the minutes as read was made by Doug Weiss and seconded by Joe Grodzki. Motion passed.

• The Treasurer's Report was read by Judy Fitzgerald. A motion to accept the Treasurer's Report as read was made by Joyce King and seconded by Stephen LaBargo. Motion passed.

• The February and March meetings will be held at the Holiday inn Express across from Duffy’s. We are looking to hold the Gathering at the Magnolia Lakes Clubhouse to keep the cost reasonable.

• Enjoyment Books can be purchased from Wilma Osterhoudt for $35.00 each.

• Tickets for the road game to Palm Beach are available for $35.00 each.

• Stephen LaBargo updated us on the Silver Sluggers, which now number 647. Many members, along with several Booster Club members, helped with the Treasure Coast Food Bank food distribution for Thanksgiving.

• We received a thank you letter from the Boys and Girls Club. Wilma and Ken Osterhoudt shopped for the food for the Salvation Army Food Bank, which has been distributing 70 bags of food a day.

• Judy mentioned that member Ellis Bromberg is going to the Mets game in London, and he asked if anyone would like to make plans together. Tickets will be available through the 7Line.

• Membership Chairperson Mary Ann Jones welcomed new members James Fasino, Frank Lange, Jennifer Strand and Tricia Hauff. She also explained how the 50/50 drawing works.

• Jim donated 8 bobbleheads for tonight’s meeting raffle.

• The name called for the 50/50 was Peyton Mathison, who was not present and won 50% of the pot.

• A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Mike Glennon and seconded by Carol Hardy. The meeting was adjourned at 7:39 pm.

The purpose of this organization is to provide support to the New York and St. Lucie Mets organizations, to provide an avenue for indigent and abused children to attend baseball games and to financially support local organizations who help indigent and abused children. The club shall be an informal, family oriented, social organization for the enjoyment of its membership as its priority, Chartered by the State of Florida.
