• The monthly Booster Club Meeting was called to order at 7:15 pm. After the Pledge of Allegiance, roll call was taken. All officers, except treasurer Judy Fitzgerald, were present,
• The minutes of the November 18, 2024 meeting were read. A motion to accept the minutes as read was made by Harry Anderson and seconded by Joyce King. Motion passed.
• The Treasurer's Report was read by Mary Ann Jones. A motion to accept the Treasurer's Reports as read was made by Doug Weiss and seconded by Carol Harty. Motion passed.
• The Board approved the following year-end donations: an additional $250.00 to Children’s Home Society WaveCREST Shelter, $500.00 for the Salvation Army Food Pantry, $500.00 to the Boys and Girls Club of St. Lucie County, $750.00 to Hibiscus Children’s Center and $500.00 for the Treasure Coast Food Bank Backpack Buddy program.
• Members donated 42 coats and jackets tonight for the Salvation Army.
• July 19th and 20th will be David Wright Weekend at CitiField. The Mets will retire #5 and induct David into the Mets Hall of Fame.
• Wilma Osterhoudt still has Enjoyment Books for sale at $35.00 each.
• The February and March meetings will be at the Holiday Inn across form Duffy’s in St. Lucie West.
• The annual Spring Gathering will be on Saturday, March 8th at Duffy’s. The cost is $30.00 for members and $35.00 for non-members.
• We welcomed St. Lucie Mets General Manager Traer Van Allen, who discussed some news with us. He announced that Paul Taglieri is leaving the Mets to become Chief of Staff for the new St. Lucie County Sheriff, Richard Del Toro. The Mets sold the teams in Syracuse and Brooklyn to Diamond Baseball Holdings, who also own the team in Binghamton. The teams will remain Mets’ affiliates. The ABS and challenge systems for balls and strikes will be used during Spring Training. The Swing into Spring Training 5K Run will be on opening day Feb. 22nd at 8:00 am. The Florida State League schedule is being adjusted to accommodate the Tampa Rays playing at Steinbrenner Field.
• Our meeting raffle tonight will be for 10 bobble heads.
• Membership Chairperson Mary Ann Jones welcomed new members Nicole Manfre and Hailey Pierce of Port St. Lucie and Mark Russo from Naples.
• The name called for the 50/50 was Joe Devine, who was not present and received 50% of the pot.
• A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Harry Anderson and seconded by Joyce King. The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 pm.
