• The monthly Booster Club Meeting was called to order at 7:03 p.m. After the Pledge of Allegiance, a moment of silence was held for original Met, Frank Thomas. Roll call was taken. All Officers were present. The minutes of the December 12, 2022, meeting was read. A motion to accept the minutes as read was made by Sue Samson and seconded by Sue Grodzki. Motion passed.
• The Treasurer’s Report was read by Judy Fitzgerald. A motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report as read was made by Steven LaBargo and seconded by Joyce King. Motion passed.
• Dora Licastri read her letter of resignation, effective today, which was accepted. A few members expressed interest in the position and upon consideration, the Board appointed Bill Zuppe to complete the current 2-year term of Vice-President. Elections for all Officer positions will be in December.
• The buses for the March 30th and April 1st games in Miami will leave from Clover Park at noon. There are tickets available for the game on Saturday, April 1st at a cost of $80.00 for members and $85.00 for non-members. And we also have tickets for the Mets vs. Nationals game in West Palm Beach on Saturday, March 11th at 7:05 p.m. The cost is $35.00 for members and $40.00 for non-members.
• February 25th is the deadline for payment of $30.00 for members and $35.00 for non-members for the Spring Gathering, which is on March 4th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Jim Beam Bourbon Bar in Clover Park. Many of the raffle prizes are signed baseballs and photos from Jim’s personal collection.
• The Monday, February 13th and Tuesday, March 14th meetings will be at Baron Real Estate. We will have 10 raffle prizes, with the drawing rolling over from February to March.
• Membership Chairperson Mary Ann Jones let us know that since last January we have added over 50 new members, possibly due to our presence on social media. She also welcomed new members Fred and Ellen Roth, Herd Rein, Brian Sparks, Jolene Swisher, David, Kristen and
Shea Stalker, David and Linda Bagdade and Roshon Legree.
• Author David Bagdade will be speaking at our March meeting. He will have copies of his book, A Year in Mudville – Revised Edition, available for sale.
• St. Lucie Mets Assistant General Manager Kyle Gleockler let us know that the field renovations at Clover Park are progressing. The major change is that the bullpens have been moved off the field.
• The name called for the 50/50 was Bob Dunkerely, who was not present and won 50% of the pot.
• A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Paula Zuppe and seconded by Carolyn Willis. The meeting was adjourned at 7:34 p.m.
